Grandparents, stomach bug and Life Walk....random

So much has happened on one week! Last Tuesday Nick's parents, Ken and Mary, came to visit us here in Phoenix.  We had a great time! We went to the zoo, went to the pool a lot, and relaxed a lot. They stayed for 5 days and I count it a blessing that I have in laws who can stay in my house that long and when the day came for them to leave I honestly was not ready at all to see them go(although they may have been ready to go since we were spreading the stomach bug around the family the whole time they were here). God has been so gracious to have sent me help the two times that I have been sick while away from home. The first time was Mary Beth who came to my rescue early in our stay and now my in laws.

It all started with baby Drake. He welcomed Nana and PawPaw with barf on the table at lunch about an hour after they got here.  Then again at dinner. Next was me. I was at the pregnancy center where I volunteer on Thursdays and I am pretty embarassed to show my face there again this week. I was filing folders in the office when I started sweating and breathing pretty similiar to what I learned in childbirth class to keep myself from hurling all over the office.  I sat my folders on a desk and politely asked if I could go home. They did not ask questions.  Next was Mason. He was sleeping in our closet since he was nice enough to give Nana and PawPaw his room for the week. He threw up all over his bed on the floor and we then proceeded to make new beds next to each other on the bathroom floor. We took turns over the toilet. Nicholas (Mr. "sickness is all in your head" himself) was the final family member to go down.  When I am sick he tells me that it is all in my head and that if I think I am sick then I will be sick but if I get up and act like I am not sick that I will be fine.  After preaching this to me all of Thursday afternoon and night, he got to hear it from me all of Saturday. I am sure he enjoyed it :) Good news now is that we are all better and Nana and Paw Paw made it home safely and so far have avoided it themselves.

Switching gears. This year is the third year I have participated in the Annual LifeWalk for Loving Choices.  Most of you know that I have been volunteering there for a while and get to work one on one with the clients in the CARE center.  I had just about decided since I was so far away that I would not participate in the walk this year but I know deep inside that that is no excuse for me not to raise money for a ministry that I feel so strongly about.  So, whether you have helped support me in the years past or not, if you would like to help, please click on the link below and visit my fundraising page.
